We are building a beautiful contemporary home which is very "green" - we're using many high efficiency features which will reduce its carbon footprint to half that of a conventional built home.  We've used a wood boiler with a thermal storage tank with a highly efficient LP backup wall hung boiler.  This will heat the entire home with 4 cords or wood PER YEAR!! We are also using foam insulation and a HRV (heat recovery ventilator) which will cycle the volume of air in the home every 8 hours.  We've also installed radiant heat in the basement and first floor "in-slab" which holds the heat and increases efficiency.

One the exterior we're using a cement-fiber siding and a standing seam metal roof.  The trim detail is amazing - T&G pine soffits with cedar brackets which are both structural and decorative.  There is also a granite sawn veneer on the interior and exterior chimney.
